Descripció:

This research examines how water resilience can be fostered at the community and neighborhood scale, with a focus on La Pau, Barcelona, located near the Besòs River. As urban areas increasingly confront water scarcity, climate uncertainty, and rapid growth, integrated approaches to water management are becoming essential. The study explores how strategies such as Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems (SUDS), Water Sensitive Urban Design (WSUD), and energy-efficient technologies can be applied in synergy with green infrastructure and localized reuse systems to strengthen neighborhood-level resilience. The proximity of La Pau to the Besòs River highlights the importance of connecting urban water strategies with surrounding natural systems, ensuring that interventions contribute to both ecological health and community well-being. The outcome of this research is a design manual that offers practical guidance for creating water-efficient neighborhoods, providing urban planners, architects, and communities with a framework to build adaptable, sustainable, and resilient urban environments.
