The goal of this thesis is to understand the role of architects today in modern society, as well as the importance of them being constantly updated on the needs of more sustainable cities. Therefore, the work strives to comprehend connections between initial ideas of the Modern Movement used as reference in the building of Besòs Southwest neighborhood, to identify connections between parameters and goals established by the UN’s 2030 Agenda in favor of developing sustainable cities.
