Descripció:
Urban water management has become increasingly problematic as global climate change has increased rainfall intensity. On the one hand, freshwater resources are becoming increasingly scarce, while on the other hand, large amounts of natural precipitation are being polluted and wasted.
This research uses five schools in Besos as the subject of this study. After extensive research into relevant case studies and evaluation criterias, and by studying the current playgrounds and roofs’ functional layouts, surface runoff and potential rainwater harvesting in these schools, the aim is to come up with proposals with SuDs interventions, rainwater reuse and distribution strategies for different original school situations, so that the school grounds can provide more enjoyment and shelter to children and also benefit the rest of the community.
